What is Shop N BoxTM?

With UK supermarkets getting grief for the recent increase in usage of bags for life which in the main are still made of plastic. The time could not be better to have a corrugated shopping trolley box that consumers would buy to carry their groceries out of the bricks and mortar supermarkets as an alternative to the bag for life or single use carrier bag.

It’s a patent applied for design that can be made on a conventional casemaker. The box fits in standard UK supermarket trollies: 80L, 120L & 180L. When the box comes off the casemaker it is in flat-packed form, but when assembled either by the shopper, retailer or merchandiser it looks like a wired shopping basket. Our tests have a Shop N Box still retains its structural rigidity after 50 KnockDowns (KDs), giving it a consumer life of a year under normal usage.

A Superior Alternative to Current Bag For Life Options

All supermarkets offer bag for life options, which range in price from 20p up to £2 though some of the jute (hessian) bags sell for £4. Most are produced in the Far East and not all made from recycled material or fully recyclable.

The French supermarket Leclerc has offered their customers a multi-point glued box to carry away their groceries. Surprisingly these have never reached the UK (or even other French supermarkets to our knowledge), very probably due to the lack of capacity in the UK and Europe for multi-point glued boxes & trays.
